TENUP
Mathematics can be a challenging subject for young students, often leading to frustration and disengagement.
The TENUP project aims to transform this experience by creating an interactive and enjoyable mobile application tailored for 2nd-grade students. Our goal is to foster a love for math through engaging activities that reinforce core concepts like place value, addition, and subtraction, ensuring that learning is both effective and fun.
The Problem
Place Value
Struggling to grasp tens and ones, and difficulty comparing and ordering numbers.
Addition & Subtraction
Finding it hard to carry over or borrow, and misplacing digits in problems.
Word Problems
Struggling to read and comprehend problems or translate words into operations.
Overview
★ Background
Tenup focuses on Grade Two Mathematics education. It aligns with Grade Two Mathematics standards and aims to encourage students to:
(1) develop conceptual understanding
(2) use drawings instead of writing equations
(3) solve word problems to aid comprehension and explanation.
The target audience is Grade 2 students, ages 7 to 8.

- He wants to achieve excellent grades like before and surpass his classmate Tom using some methods.
